According to the latest update from the Indiana State Health Department (ISHD), 1,553 residents of Cass County have tested positive for COVID-19.
The most recent ISHD report shows 285 cases in Howard County, 130 in Miami, 178 in White, 78 in Carroll, 42 in Fulton and 34 in Pulaski.
An additional 625 cases have been confirmed statewide by the ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Cass County Health Department, Memorial Hospital and private laboratories. That brings the statewide total to 27,280 with 1,596 deaths, for a death rate of 5.9 percent.
A total of 171,358 tests have been reported to ISDH to date, up from 165,448 reported on Friday with 15.9 percent of those returning positive results.
According to the latest update from the CDC, 1,412,121 cases are now confirmed nationwide. There have been 85,990 deaths reported nationwide for a death rate of 6.1 percent.
As of Saturday morning's report, the World Health Organization says 4,434,653 people have been infected worldwide with 302,169 deaths reported, for a global death rate of 6.8 percent.
