The Cass County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police are still investigating the alleged abduction of a 62-year-old woman in the Galveston area on Saturday.

No arrests have been made yet, but Cass County Sheriff Ed Schroder has stated that “there is no danger to the public from this investigation or suspects.”

The sheriff’s department was made aware of the incident at 7:53 p.m. on Saturday when a call went to central dispatch that the victim of an abduction was at Fast Lane Foods at 108 N. California St. in Galveston.

Deputies met with the 62-year-old there, and other officers located an alleged suspect vehicle near Walton that matched the description of a vehicle the woman gave.

“This is a complex case that is continuing to be investigated with the help of the Indiana State Police,” Schroder stated.

Schroder is requesting that anyone with information pertaining to it contact the Cass County Sheriff’s Office at 574-753-7800.
