4-H Fair delayed

The Cass County Fair will be moved to July 20-25 this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Cass County 4-H Association Board of Directors made the decision Wednesday night.

“We were uncertain if Gov. [Eric] Holcomb was going to move Cass County to Stage 5. We thought this was the best decision so families could make plans and could continue with their graduation plans,” said Association President Bryan Kistler.

Stage 5 is the final stage of the Indiana Back on Track plan that will open up the state to near-normal activity.

That stage goes into effect July 4, the Saturday before the fair was supposed to start and its traditional time.

However, Cass County has been two weeks, then one week, behind most other counties in the state because of its initial high rate of positive tests for people with COVID-19.
