A public hearing on the Great Streets and Gateways grant application will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in the city council chambers of the City Building.
Logan’s Landing Association is asking downtown supporters to contact city council members, who will meet following the public hearing to discuss the grant.
The council sent the plan for improving downtown streets and sidewalks back to the commission for reconsideration after failing to pass it. Four council members have since indicated they will support passage of the concept.
The city is applying for a Community Focus Fund grant of up to $500,000 to replace sidewalks on Fourth Street from East Melbourne Avenue to High Street. Improvements would include brick pavers such as those inlaid in sidewalks on Broadway and Market from Third to Sixth streets.
