Pioneer once again proved it is the class of Midwest Conference football.
The Panthers won at West Central in convincing fashion, 21-6, Friday night. The Panthers (8-1, 7-0 MWC) sealed up the league title and won their 47th conference game in a row and 78th out of the last 79.
Freshman Sam Kiser filled in for the injured Mitchell Williams at quarterback and scored all three of the Panthers’ touchdowns in the contest. He also had an interception late in the game that sealed the win for Pioneer.
Joe Miller led the Panthers with 179 yards rushing on 23 carries. Kiser added 61 yards on 13 attempts.
West Central quarterback Michael Hamilton led the Trojans (8-1, 6-1) with 115 yards rushing on 26 carries. He was 2 of 12 passing for 57 yards and two interceptions. Chantz Marlatt added 30 yards rushing and a touchdown on 12 attempts.
Stephen Whitlock had nine tackles to lead Pioneer’s defense. Kamrin Buell added an interception.
