Today

Wood demonstration: A wood-carving demonstration is planned from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Logansport Cass County Public Library.

Spring concert, art festival: Columbia Middle School is holding a spring concert including the choir and concert band at 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium. An art exhibit will be on display from 5 to 6:30 p.m. next to the art room. Also performing will be the jazz band from Lincoln and Columbia Middle Schools. Admission is free.



Thursday

Visiting author: Local history writer W.C. Madden will be visiting from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Program Room at the Monticello Union Township Public Library. The program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is required. Lucia Maya prints: A reception to meet world-renowned artist Lucia Maya will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Logansport Art Association. Prints provided by the Cass County Community Foundation will be on display at the association throughout the month of May. She will be meeting with local art students and touring local places of interest during her stay in Logansport.



Saturday

Breakfast: The Twelve Mile Community Board is sponsoring a breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. in the Community Building.

Historical Preservation Day: Cass County’s Historical Preservation Day will be celebrated from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Museum Grounds, 1004 E. Market St. Tours will be conducted and the Society’s archives and research library located at 317-11th St. Free shuttle service will be provided to the Museum Grounds and Eel River Avenue by the Delphi Interurban Trolley. Attendees are encouraged to park at Riverside Park and see one of Cass County’s National Historic Landmarks, the Carousel. Then ride the trolley to Bankers Row and the Museum. Fish, chicken fry: The Fulton County Historical Society will hold an all-you-can-eat fish and chicken fry from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Advanced tickets are available at the museum. The cost for adults is $7 and children (age 6-11) is $4. Tickets will also be available at the door for $7.50 for adults and $4 for children. For more information, call (574) 223-4436. Bake sale items will also be available.

Horse, buggy rides: The Girl Scouts of Tribal Trials is hosting horse and buggy rides from 5 to 7 p.m. at 303 E. Clay St. The cost is $3 per person. For information, call Jody Carmichael at (574) 722-4464.
