Pyrolyzer project

July 9, 2013

PUBLIC FORUM: Letters from Tuesday, July 9, 2013

Is the fuel comingfrom elsewhere?

I watched the meeting that was on TV June 26 at the McHale Center. Then I read the article in the Pharos-Tribune the next day.

From both these sources of information, I have concluded that the Pyrolyzer proposal is a system that creates fuel then burns this fuel to make electric power. The current power plant uses coal, which comes from mining. Coal is a natural product like oil and natural gas. The cost of production is part of the product that is sold to the customer.

The Pyrolyzer system resembles a nuclear system in that the fuel is man-made. In the nuclear system, the fuel is made in a separate facility then sold to the customer. The cost of production of the nuclear fuel product is built into the product.

What I see in the Pyrolyzer system are two different facilities. If the fuel is created using the Pyrolyzer process then transferred to the power plant, there is a cost involved in making the fuel. Is electric power used to make the fuel? The local utility will have to account for the cost of production in that this electricity will have a value. Being that this process is completed at a unified site, how are the accounting books designed?

I have asked a question for several years. What is it necessary for Logansport to produce its own power? Logansport is a city in Cass County which lies in Indiana. Logansport is not a foreign country.

Dear valued friends, family, and customers of China Lane Restaurant,

It has been an absolute pleasure serving all of you over the years. We wish we could keep China Lane forever, but due to health concerns, the time has come for us to retire. We appreciate all of the help and support you have given us. Thank you for being a part of our family and for allowing us to be a part of yours. Logansport has been a great place for business and to raise our family.
