Davis not feeling the love
February 13, 2006 11:45 pm

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Forget about job security, embattled Indiana coach Mike Davis would simply like to see the fans support his players.
Davis, who missed Saturday’s game with flulike symptoms, felt well enough Monday to criticize fans and the media for creating the negative environment he believes has sent the Hoosiers’ basketball team into its latest tailspin.

Still without Dungy
December 26, 2005 11:56 pm

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts still don’t know when Tony Dungy will return as coach.
They do know they will be grieving with him Tuesday at the funeral of his 18-year-old son, who died in his Tampa, Fla., apartment last week, an apparent suicide.
“I think it will be great for coach Dungy and I think it will be great for our team, our coaching staff and those people in the building who work with him day to day,” Jim Caldwell, who is running the Colts in Dungy’s absence, said Monday.

By The Associated Press
The New Orleans Saints had to figure they’d lost a game just about every way possible.

Pacers will seek trade for Artest
December 13, 2005 12:09 am

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Ron Artest’s days with the Indiana Pacers appear to be over.
Artest, suspended most of last season for his role in one of the worst brawls in American sports, said over the weekend that he wants out, his past haunts him in Indianapolis and the team would be better off without him.
Team president and chief executive Donnie Walsh said Monday he didn’t like Artest taking the issue to the media first, but he would try to work out a trade.
