Two flown from crash site

From Staff Reports

Two people were severely injured in a crash in Pulaski County on Wednesday. After being airlifted to hospitals in South Bend and Indianapolis, their conditions were not known.

About 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Indiana State Police responded to a two-car crash on U.S. 421, one mile north of the Pulaski-White county line. Both drivers were airlifted.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 1998 Mercury driven by 36-year-old Jeremy Yeoman of Francesville was northbound on U.S. 421 when a 1996 Honda going southbound went left of center as they entered a curve in the road. The Honda driven by 19-year-old Yaki Vaquerano of Monon struck the driver’s door of the Mercury as Yeoman tried to avoid the crash.

Yeoman was taken to Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer with serious injuries to his left arm and ear. He was later airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Vaquerano was airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital with head trauma.
