Meth lab discovered in Miami County

Police arrest three Peru residents

PERU — State police on Monday night arrested three Peru residents accused of making methamphetamine.

About 10:30 p.m., Trooper Bob Burgess concluded a month-long investigation by arresting 22-year-old Dustin Roy Jones, 28-year-old Jennifer Renee Brown and 39-year-old Roger Vanhoose, all of Peru.

During the investigation, Burgess developed information that meth was being made outdoors in the area of Daniel’s Road and 670E. Police set up surveillance and took the three suspects into custody when they reportedly returned to the meth lab. All three were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail on $40,000 bond.

Jones, Brown and Vanhoose were arrested on class B felony charges of possession of an illegal drug lab, class D felony charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and class B misdemeanor charges of possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container.

Jones was also charged with possession of switch blade, a class B misdemeanor, and Vanhoose was charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, a class D felony.

Burgess was assisted by First Sgt. Bob Land, Trooper T.J. Zeiser and officers from the Miami County Sheriff’s Department.
