Cass County man airlifted after crash

From Staff Reports

A Cass County man remains hospitalized after his motorcycle collided with a truck on Monday evening.

At 7:36 p.m., Cass County emergency personnel responded to 400W just south of 50N.

An investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Department revealed that a northbound motorcycle driven by 41-year-old William Dubois sideswiped a southbound pickup truck driven by 54-year-old Michael Long, both Cass County residents.

The impact caused the motorcycle to skid on its side about 33 feet. Dubois, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered injury to his left leg. He was taken to Logansport Memorial Hospital for initial treatment and later airlifted by Samaritan Helicopter to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

As of this morning, he was listed in fair condition. The crash is still under investigation.

The sheriff’s department was assisted at the scene by the Logansport Fire Department, Cass County EMS and Indiana State Police.
