Government isn’t being what it should be
Government should be a “watchdog” over private business to audit and guard against immoral actions like cheating and lying. Government should “protect” consumers from fraud.
Government should not “run” the business. Government should not “control” private business to offer only this, and not that. The consumer will control what private business offers. The consumers will buy what they want, while other offerings will flounder. The majority will rule.
Government should not force consumers to buy this, or be fined that.
Big government is not qualified to run any business. The VA scandal is the current testimony to government’s incompetency. And the IRS. And the CIA. And Social Security, Medicare. And ... you pick your favorite. And now we have the ACA (aka ObamaCare).
Big government is your fault. Vote wisely, or suck it up and pay the price.
Columnist should choose words more wisely
I had an opportunity to read the editorial comments that were written in the Pharos-Tribune by Mr. Dave Kitchell regarding what he titled the “French Connection.”
I believe that Mr. Kitchell is abusing his position as an objective editorial writer. He is not in favor of the administration’s position regarding the future of electric power for the Logansport area and characterizes the city officials as “Nazis.” It is one thing to express your opinion, but it is totally inappropriate to equate this administration with the word “Nazis.”
Personal attacks are very offensive and using the power of the newspaper to attack someone shows a lack of respect for the freedom of speech that we are given by our constitution and this great country. We should all work together to find the best solutions for our energy issues in Cass County. One should choose their words wisely when trying to express their opinion.
