PUBLIC FORUM: Snowball event sets new record

— More than 190 people were at Pond View Golf Club in Star City on Feb. 24 to help raise money for local families and organizations. Totaling 140 golfers, 27 teams played in this year’s 27th annual Snowball event.

The team of Mark Mills, Glen Hofmeyer, Doug Spille, Wayne Kruger, Ed Kohley and Jay Clawson had the low 9 hole score of the day with a 5 under par 30.

Every year at the auction, the traveling stuffed bear named “Snowball” is sold to the highest bidder in honor of Jason Conn. This year, Jason and Stacie Criswell set a new record with an incredibly generous bid of $2,250! The money raised from this event is being given to area families and organizations in Pulaski, Cass and Fulton counties and other surrounding areas. We would like to thank the hole sponsors, businesses, golfers, auction bidders and all others who came out to help make this tournament a great success. A special thank you to Shelley Morphet, Brian Maas, Jesse Heffley, Brandy Overway, Emily Overway, Deb Ruff, Vi Keller, Jeff Brew, Mike Hardy, Brian Keller, Kyan Zartman, Jim Robinson and Steve Miller.
