PUBLIC FORUM: Overwhelmed by giving nature of the community

---- — Overwhelmed by giving nature of community

Thanksgiving is over but we are still in awe of the success of the annual Thanksgiving Dinner sponsored by our church, River of Life Christian Church.

This year was the 45th time our congregation has come together to “give” this dinner to our community.

We would be remiss if we did not thank our entire, wonderful congregation, and our pastor, Keith Kincaid, for the total support they provide for this effort.

Also, we wish to thank all of the volunteers who just “appeared” on Thanksgiving Day to help us with all of the little things that need to be done. Several local merchants contributed food, goods, services, and money to help. No one ever say “no.”

The Roosters have provided the green beans and sweet potatoes for several years.

Without the service everyone gives, we could not accomplish this task. We are truly humbled and blessed to be a part of this experience. We served 700 meals this year, a new record.
