---- — Public input soughton project in Flora
This letter concerns the citizen’s 4-H Exhibit Building and the Flora Community Club plans for it.
Frankly, I object to the forceful way the citizens of this county are disregarded in this situation, despite our opposition, the FCC has proceeded in their quest.
1. Aug. 19: They requested that the Carroll County commissioners post Request for Proposals, step 1 - Public Private Partnership.
2. Sept. 3: Pushing onward toward their goal, they requested a closed door meeting with the commissioners to discuss the Build-Operate-Transfer agreement, explaining that we, the public, wouldn’t understand what they wanted to discuss!
3. Sept 16: Their attorney presented the Build-Operate-Transfer proposal to the commissioners — did the FCC just make it up or was it the result of a closed door meeting?
4. The FCC proceeded to the council on Sept. 19th, to gain their approval for the BOT.
Where are the citizens’ rights to be heard in this fiasco? The commissioners are supposed to be in control and they work for us! The FCC should not be in control of this! The citizens have a right to be heard and to voice their opinions and anything less is non-American!
The FCC is applying the pressure. Will your commissioners cave in and allow this to happen? The Flora Community Club is making this Agenda 21 project look so good!
Remember, the Carroll County commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Oct. 7. Let them know where you stand!
