Let’s put stop to vandalism

If you read the police report in Sunday’s paper, you were made aware of the graffiti that appeared eight times with orange paint on garages, a building or two, several cars and my church. A church belongs to God, and He gets upset when it isn’t held with respect. That poor, stupid kid will have to stay out of the rain and not even look out of a window during a storm the rest of his life.

Parents, if you find an orange spray can around your home, have a nice, long talk with your kid about respecting other people’s property, and it wouldn’t hurt to call your lawyer.

You young boys, if you see an orange spray can in a car or its trunk or room of your acquaintance, call Crime Stoppers at (574) 722-7867 and get a reward. Then you will have a bunch of money all your own to spend all the rest of the year.

Now, mayor and city council, i would like to have you write and vote on a curfew ordinance before the end of October so the police will have the authority to pick up and fine any child under age if they are out of their home on foot, bicycle or cruising in a car. Last week in the news, there was a town close to Indianapolis (I think it was Carmel or Fishers) that is upset and doing this exact same thing to get the kids off their streets. We could copy their tough ordinance that fines the parents.

My husband and I were raised here in Logan with a curfew, and we survived. I am sure this generation will, too.
