on the mark



I would like to thank you or whoever made the decision to print Mona Charen’s column regarding the recent Heller decision by the U.S. Supreme Court (Pharos-Tribune, July 1). This is, without question, at least to me, the very best column that I have read regarding this decision. She "nailed it"!

Up until this point, I had never even heard of her. Now, I am going to look forward to reading more of her opinons, even though I am sure that I won’t always agree with her.

Thank you again for making a wise decision.

In the Bible, Jesus teaches in Matthew 7:20, “You will know my people by their fruits.” So to Joan, Don and Larry of the Walton American Legion, I would like to thank you all for your compassion and heartfelt willingness to do all you can to make sure my mother can play bingo on Tuesday nights.

She has a sight problem, and you have gone way out of your way to make her papers darker and bigger whenever she needed it when no other club would. I have never seen a finer group of caring people. You can definitely see the fruits of their works.
