Thanks for help with fundraiser
I would like to thank Cross-Winds United Methodist Church, Scoutmasters, and parents for all of their help and support for the fish fry dinner held on March 28 to benefit the Boy Scouts who will be attending the 2010 Jamboree.
I was extremely pleased with the turnout and appreciate all who bought tickets to enable our youth to have an experience of a lifetime. Watch for future opportunities to help our local Scouts participate in this national event. If anyone is interested in joining the Boy Scouts of America either as a youth member or as an adult volunteer, please contact Chief Logan’s district executive, Diann Sedam, at (574) 721-1982.

Why aren’t we first priority?
Just an interesting thought, but did you know that Indiana is not No. 1 in unemployment nationwide as of January 2009? Actually, we are No. 5. Maybe Gov. Mitch Daniels, who we elected to serve us, should spend more time on trying to help solve the widespread unemployment problem than on changing the state constitution. Are we really more concerned with how county government is organized and tax caps than we are with solving current economic problems?

Thanks for help with celebration
I would like to thank my family, friends and neighbors for the wonderful 90th birthday celebration on April 4 at the senior center at 2626 George St.
Thanks for the beautiful birthday cards, gifts, flowers and plants.
For all who took time to come and greet me with a happy birthday, thank you. Thanks to the Pharos-Tribune, too.
God bless all.
