Mary Philomena (Hart) Black


KOKOMO — Mary Philomena (Hart) Black 80, Kokomo, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.

Mary was born to Hugh and Rose Hart on July 19, 1932, in Coalisland, Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

Mary immigrated to the United States in 1958 and was united in marriage to Doyce Ray Black Sr. on March 4, 1959.

Mary was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She and her U.S. Air Force military career husband traveled and lived in many states before retiring in Galveston.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Bonnie (Steve) Hoff, six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers, still residing in England; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Kathy and Bud Pearson, Kokomo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Doyce Ray Black Jr.

A prayer service will be at Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, N.D. Interment will be in Logansport.

Shirley and Stout Funeral Home, Kokomo, is handling arrangements.
