Mary Jane Campbell


— Mary Jane Campbell, 93, Logansport, passed away at 9:18 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

She was a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born April 2, 1919, in Logansport, she was the daughter of George and Ruth Smith Dibble. On June 23, 1937, in Culver, she was married to John Edward Campbell. He preceded her in death January 25, 1992.

A homemaker, Mary Jane had previously worked at RBM and Slusser’s Green Thumb.

She was a member of the Cass County Extension Homemakers and the American Legion Auxiliary. An excellent seamstress, Mary Jane made most of her clothing. She also enjoyed knitting. She was a fabulous cook and baker who enjoyed gardening and mushroom hunting. And Mary Jane always loved a good game of euchre.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Tom Keplar, Logansport; one brother, Wallace (Phyllis) Dibble, Logansport; two sisters, Ruth Lowry and Louisa (Bill) Buzbee, all of Logansport; and one grandson, John Keplar,San Fransisco, Calif.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Prentice, and three brothers, George, Jim and Donald Dibble.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel.

Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Humane Society or the American Heart Association.
