Cotus “Coty” Eugene Hutchison, 54, Leesburg, Fla., and formerly of Clinton, Ill., and Fulton County, passed away at 2:28 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, in Florida.

He was born on April 24, 1959, in Rochester, the son of Cotus L. and Judith Ann (Middaugh) Hutchison. He graduated from Caston High School in 1977 and served with the United States Navy, where he received the Battle E Ribbon and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

Mr. Hutchison had owned and operated the Hot Spot Tavern in Clinton, Ill., retiring in 2011. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4168, and the American Legion Post #103, both of Clinton, Ill. He enjoyed playing darts, watching NASCAR, and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Cubs.

Survivors include his son, Brady Hutchison, Leesburg, Fla.; father, Cotus Leroy Hutchison, Rochester; friend, Dawn Carroll, Leesburg, Fla.; sister, Pam and husband Kim Clay, Rochester; brothers, David Hutchison, Rochester; Tim and wife Kimmy Hutchison, Fulton; Chuck and wife Bianca Hutchison, Eugene, Ore., Steven Hutchsion, Dandridge, Tenn., Shaun Hutchison, Rochester; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Hutchison, on Oct. 30, 2010.

Memorial graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Akron Cemetery, on 1075 East in Akron, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.
