Frances E. (Rehm) Miller

Frances E. (Rehm) Miller

Frances Eileen (Rehm) Miller was born on March 14, 1920, in Logansport, to the late Otto and Flossie (Prescott) Rehm. She was the second of three daughters.

She was a 1938 graduate of Logansport High School. In June, it was 75 years since her high school graduation.

Frances was a private secretary to nine different plant managers of The General Tire and Rubber Company, for 30 years. She enjoyed her work and made many lifelong friends.

She was a 67-year member of Main Street United Methodist Church, where she was very active for many years.

Frances was a kind, loving, Christian lady who always enjoyed the laughter and good times with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She played the piano “by ear” and entertained her daughters with the “old songs.” Her three favorite hymns were “The Old Rugged Cross,” “In the Garden,” and “What a Friend We Have In Jesus.”

Frances lived with her daughter, Marsha, after having a stroke. Marsha and Frances have always shared a “best of friends” relationship.

In June 2012, she moved to the Woodbridge Health Campus due to her failing health.

Frances took Jesus’ hand, and rejoined her family in heaven at 9:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013.

Survivors include her daughter, Marsha “Marty” Miller Scott; and her four dearly loved grandchildren, Terri Cory Romanyk, Indianapolis, Mark (Jan) Scott, Kokomo, Christy Cory Gaby, Indianapolis, Julie Scott-Jackson and husband Rob Jackson, Fishers; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are her caring son-in-law, Karl Cory, and special nieces and nephews, Jill Scheetz Williams, Indianapolis, Jody Scheetz Conover, Indianapolis, and Tom (Jodene) Scheetz, Logansport; and four great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her daughter, Bonnie Miller Cory; and her great-granddaughter, Abby Frances Smith.

Frances also had two sisters and brothers-in-law who preceded her in death, Ellen and Rudy Rammel, Mary Cathryn “Kakey” and Joe Scheetz.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with Pastors Bill Collins and Damon Soper officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church.
