IDAVILLE — Mabel F. Lesher, 99, rural Idaville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, at the I.U. Health, White Memorial Hospital, Monticello.

She was born Feb. 5, 1914, in White County, to the late Gurson and Edith (Yount) Cosgray. On Oct. 30, 1937, in Buffalo, at the home of the Rev. Alvin Hall, she married Harold “Hod” Lesher. He passed away on Dec. 28, 1983.

Mabel had lived in rural White County (Caley/Bell Center area) all of her life.

She was a member of Caley United Methodist Church and the Ladies Aide of the church.

Mabel was a farm wife and an amazing cook. She used to enjoy quilting.

Surviving are son, Don (Marilyn) Lesher of rural Idaville; grandchildren, Jeff (Arlene) Lesher of Monticello, Steve Lesher of rural Idaville, and Cindy (Gary) Allen of Monticello; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Armstrong, Nichols “Nic” Lesher, and Cyrus and Cody Allen; great-great-grandchildren, Brennan, Alexia and Kohen; and brother, Glenn (wife Ruth) Cosgray of Idaville.

Mabel was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne, Arthur, Gerald ‘Layton’, and Ralph Cosgray.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the Caley United Methodist Church, Royal Center. Celebration of Life Service will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the church, with Rev. Doris E. Smith of the Caley United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will follow at the Bell Center Cemetery in rural White County (Bell Center).

Memorials may be given to Caley United Methodist Church.
