ROCHESTER — Joyce A. Freels, 74, Rochester, passed away at 4:10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, in her residence.

Born Sept. 5, 1939, in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Brew) Plotner. On Dec. 11, 1954, in Winamac, she married Walter “Bunk” Freels Jr. who survives.

Mrs. Freels worked for Lau Industries, Rochester, for 30 years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving along with her husband is one daughter, Carol Sue Chase, Lafayette; two sons, Jimmie Joe (Linda) Freels, Peru, and John Wayne Freels and Jerry Davis, Logansport; four grandchildren, Jason Freels, Rochester, Jennifer Jackson, Peru, Sarah Chase, Lafayette, and Ty Freels, Peru; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, four brothers and one granddaughter.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Grass Creek Cemetery, Grass Creek, with Pastor Jerry Winter officiating.
