Miriam Wardlow, 89, Logansport, formerly of Mishawaka and Madison, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Logansport.
Born Jan. 26, 1924, in South Bend, she was the daughter of the late Albert Absalom and Elvena Belle (Miller) Stevens. On Dec. 12, 1942, in Mishawaka, she married Willis L. “Bill” Wardlow, who preceded her in death May 30, 2013.
Miriam was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a 1942 graduate of Mishawaka High School and a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Logansport. For many years, she was active at Madison Presbyterian Church, serving in many roles, including financial secretary.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Kelley of Logansport and Susan (Norman) Criss of Louisville, Ky.; one son, Jon (Dianna) Wardlow of Columbus; two grandsons, Patrick Kelley of Lafayette and Scott (Kandice) Criss of Shepherdsville, Ky.; four granddaughters, Julie (Benjamin) Flanagan of Independence, Ky.; Beth (Richard) Stumpf of Springfield, Ohio, and Amy Wardlow and Sarah Wardlow, both of Bloomington; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Miriam was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
A memorial service will be noon Monday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with the Rev. Doug Mankell officiating. A private burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Mishawaka.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
