Martha Baker, 84, Walton, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Nov. 28, 1928, in Medaryville, to the late Helen and Ray Banes. A member of Walton Christian Church. A former member of Gay Niters Home Economics Club and retired cook for Lewis Cass High School, she was a home maker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include Charles L. Baker, husband; her children, Charles L. Baker Jr (Sandra) of Kokomo, Jeffery S. (Nancy) of Logansport, Randall S. (Lisa), of Peru, Dennis D. (Elsie) of Walton, Martalee Montgomery (Ron) of Walton; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Three sisters Ramona (Jimmy) Departe, of Casa Grande, Ariz., Judy (Ray) Propoes of Idaville, and Debra Durham of Dobie, Texas.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Walton Christian Church, Walton, with the Rev. Bill Collins officiating.
Burial will follow in Walton IOOF Cemetery, Walton. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston, and and hour prior to services Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association. Murray Weaver Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
