MURRIETA, Calif. —
Rex R. Roderick, Murrieta, Calif., passed away at 4:27 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Mitzie. He had a son, Jack, who is deceased, a daughter, Barbara, Ariz., two grandchildren and a stepson, Shuichi, Mass.
Rex was born in Logansport in 1932. He was the son of Russell and Mabel Roderick, who are deceased. Rex was also preceded in death by his brother, Dick, who passed away in 1972. His brother, Jack, Missoula, Mont., sisters, Mary and Kathleen, both of Indianapolis, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, in-laws and good friends survive.
Rex served in United States air force. After leaving service, he worked as a mechanic at United Airlines and then as Maintenance Supervisor at Trans-International Airlines in San Francisco. He later became a consultant for the FAA, and upon retiring also did consulting for Boeing.
Rex very much enjoyed being a member of his community barbershop quartet, The Colony 4. He was also a very accomplished artist and author. His fictional western, titled “Return to Oak River Falls,” is available through Amazon.com.
Funeral arrangements are planned in California.
