His parents preceded Jonathan in death. He is survived by his partner, James Leo Gatchel and his partner’s children, Christy Gatchel and Jason Gatchel; and grandchildren: Candice and Trinity Gatchel and Madison and Taylor Gatchel. Also surviving are Jonathan’s siblings: Robert L. Justice, Margaret J. (Claude) Dean, Samuel C. Justice (partner, Ann Lakin), Elizabeth A. Justice (Frank M. Howland) and Amy C. Justice (Joseph T. King, Jr.); nieces and nephews, Rebecca J. (Jonathan) Lazarus, Jessica C. Justice, Robert D. (Alicia Conner) Justice, Celeste S. Dean (Christopher Campbell), Jesse J. Dean, Lauren C. Justice, S. Elliot Justice, Sarah J. Howland, Catherine J. Howland, Rebecca J. Howland, Daniel J. King, and Erin J. King; and great-nieces and nephews, Cameron Dean, Madeline Lazarus and Robert Conner Justice.
Jonathan was kind to all and wise in the ways of the woods. A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday Kroeger Funeral Home, 711 E. Market St. Interment will be at the Cemetery at Pleasant Hill near Keeps Creek.
Friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
