Wayne E. Davis


WINAMAC — Wayne E. Davis, 74, Winamac, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Hickory Creek at Winamac.

Born Aug. 4, 1938, in Logansport, he was the son of Roy and Francelia Taylor Davis.

He was married in 1994 to Seair Sue Gibbs, who survives, residing in Star City.

Wayne was a retired sergeant major in the U.S. Army. Following retirement he was a truck driver for several companies.

He was a 1955 graduate of Metea High School and a 1979 graduate of Indiana University. He was a member of the Winamac VFW and American Legion posts. Wayne was also a member of Tipton Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Christopher A. Davis and James W. Davis; two daughters, Elizabeth and Terry; four sisters, Bessie Crain, Karen Sutton, Janet Platt and Joan McCloskey; stepsons, Everett Jackson and Bradley Gibbs; stepdaughters, Susan DeWitt and Wanda Camp; 14 grandchildren, 12 stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Three brothers preceded him in death.

Interment with full military honors will be private in Buffalo Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Kroeger Funeral Home.
