Ruth W. Kennedy-Sterrett-Stone, 95, Logansport, passed quietly at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the home of her son Sam, where she had resided for several months.
She was born Oct. 22, 1917 in Howard County to Samuel A. Becholt and Rosa (maiden Fife) Bechdolt. She graduated from Camden High School in 1935. She was employed at the Logansport State Hospital as a nursing attendant, retiring in 1979.
She is survived by a daughter Jean Willis of Heber Springs, Ark., and two sons Sam (Sandy) Sterrett of Logansport and Luther (Shirley) Sterrett of Delphi. Also surviving is one sister Helen Maxwell of Warsaw, Ind., and nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Rosa Cross, one brother and four sisters.
Ruth was a member of the Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed attending to the needs of her family.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cree Funeral Home, Camden, Ind., with Fr. Clark Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Paint Creek Cemetery, near Camden. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
