Nancy C. Harrell, 83, Claypool, formerly of Star City, died at 3:25 a.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, following a brief illness.
Nancy was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Star City, to parents William and Laura (Billings) Huff.
She married Lloyd W. Harrell on Dec. 24, 1950, in Star City. He preceded her in death Aug. 15, 1994.
Nancy was the office manager for Midwest Poultry Services, Mentone, for over 20 years. In the earlier years, she worked in the Fulton County Courthouse.
She was a graduate of Star City High School. She enjoyed reading, spending time traveling to see her family and cooking.
Survivors included three daughters LuAnn and husband Ed Heitner, Lakeland, Fla., Sara and husband Tim Boganwright, Claypool, and Felicia Barker and husband Steven Ray, Asheville, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Harrell; son-in-law, Mike Barker; two sisters, Elizabeth Purkey and Jean Cooke; and brother, John Huff.
Per her request, no public visitation or services will be held. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens, Winamac.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 4666 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne.
Services were entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Services with King Memorial Home serving the family.
