David E. Rose, 66, Logansport, passed away at 6:53 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born March 3, 1947, in Logansport, he was the son of Lawrence and Delores Lancaster Rose.

On June 12, 1976, in Logansport, he was married to Trudi Young, who survives.

Dave retired in 2008 from Chrysler Corp. in Kokomo. He was a former member of the United Auto Workers.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion Post 60 and VFW Post 3790.

A 1965 graduate of Logansport High School, Dave enjoyed deer hunting, mushroom hunting and NASCAR. His favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He was a fan of the Logansport Berries, IU basketball and the Baltimore Orioles. In earlier years, he played softball and coached Babe Ruth baseball.

His beloved beagle, Thor, preceded him in death.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters, Misty (Bret) Bowman of New Waverly and Michelle Rose (Israel) of Logansport; a sister, Patti (Tom) Hicks of Lafayette; and an aunt, Matilda Rose of Logansport; as well as several cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Robert “Bobby” Rose.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kroeger Funeral Home. Fr. Dominic Petan will officiate. Entombment with full military honors will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
