Roderick 'Rod' L. Fenimore

---- — Roderick “Rod” L. Fenimore passed away at 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Miami County, the son of Omar and Louise (Marshall) Fenimore. Rod Married Margaret (Marty) Winters on June 18, 1966, who survies.

He graduated from Peru High School in 1945. He enlisted in the U.S. Army 1945 to 1946 and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and Germany/France. He retired from the C&O Railroad after 37 years as a carman. He loved camping and was a member of the Sycamore Sams Chapter 13. He loved sports and was a member of the Peru Moose, Maennerchor, American Legion and First Christian Church.

He is survived by is wife, Marty Fenimore, Bunker Hill; daughter, Peggy Anderson, Peru; granddaughters, Gina (Mike) Hollingsworth, North Webster, and Kelly (Terry) Smith, Kokomo; grandson, Michael Hollarman, Kokomo; six great-grandchildren; sister, June Ward, Peru; niece, Janet (Gary) Gamester, Peru; and nephew, Jim (Brenda) Ward, Peru.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Marshall and Charles (Bud) Fenimore.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Flowers Leedy Funeral Home in Peru. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
