Rex B. Grant

WARSAW — Pastor Rex B. Grant, 71, Warsaw, formerly Logansport, went to be with his Lord at 5:20 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, in his beloved Hoffman Lake home.

Born July 27, 1941, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Rev. Paul Arthur and Ruby V. Gooch Grant. He was married March 19, 1983, in Kokomo to Martha Carter Grant, who survives.

A 1959 graduate of Logansport High School, Rex graduated from the Grand Rapids Bible School in 1964. In 1998, he graduated from the Andersonville College with a bachelor’s degree in theology.

Rex was employed at Chrysler for 30 years while serving as a minister for 50 years in South Holland, Ill., at Bible Fellowship Church and then Grace Fellowship Church in Logansport. He loved to preach the Word rightly divided and grace for all.

Rex loved to travel and camp. He took the “trip of a lifetime” when he traveled with his wife to Alaska. Rex had a passion for photography, woodworking, flea marketing and collecting.

Surviving with his wife are five children, Jeff Grant, Santa Clara, Calif., Evon Grant (fiancee Kelly), Kokomo, Pam Bogan (Jay), Noblesville, Mike Grant (April), West Middleton, and Marlea Williams (Fred), Milltown; brother, Paul Grant, Avon; one sister-in-law, Janis M. Grant, Kokomo; and nine grandchildren whom Rex dearly loved: Nicholas, Samantha, Owen, Aidan, Jessalyn, Emily, Michael, Johnathan and Sydney.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ken Grant, who died this past January.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Chapel, 1801 Chase Road, Logansport, with Pastors Jay McKinley and Arley Mitchem officiating. Interment will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service in the funeral chapel.

Memorials in memory of Rex may be made to the Grace Fellowship Church, 1701 E. Market St., Logansport, IN 46947.
