Herbert L. Beck


LOGANSPORT — Herbert L. Beck, 90, Logansport, passed away at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born Dec. 1, 1922, in Warren, he was the son of William H. and Vinnie Robinson Beck.

On Nov. 28, 1953, he was married to Lois Landis, who survives, in Logansport.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Herb was retired from the carpentry shop at the Logansport State Hospital.

He was a member of the Lockport Church. Herb was an avid woodworker and family man.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Sue (Perman) Hoch, Cathy Isaacs and Brena (Glenn) Pearson, all of Logansport; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are a son, Jerry Beck; granddaughters, Lyndsey Pearson and Ann Marie Hoch; brother, William Beck; and sisters, Helen Moon, Esther Westfall and Avis Dearing.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Lockport Church with the Rev. Nord Zootman officiating. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kroeger Funeral Home and from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the Church.
