Lucille Miller


FRANCESVILLE — Lucille Miller, 88, Francesville, formerly of LaCrosse, passed away at 8:57 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.

She was born Sept. 9, 1924, in Lafayette to Martin and Emma McCormick.

Lucille graduated from Monon High School. She married Raymond Miller on Aug. 10, 1949, in Valparaiso. They raised their family on a farm in LaCrosse.

Lucille was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in LaCrosse. She served as Clerk-Treasurer of the Alter Rosary Society.

Lucille was a proud farmwife and also served as Treasurer of Dewey Townswhip in LaPorte County.

Lucille and Ray toured the United States on their Harley-Davidson motorcycles throughout their lives together.

Survivors include her husband Raymond, of LaCrosse, Ind.; daughters Cheryl Kay Miller and Connie Maxine McMeans, both of Wooster, Ohio; sons Ronald Alan (Shelley) Miller, Topeka, Kan., and Rex Elliot Miller, Wooster, Ohio; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Patricia (Herb) McKay, Columbus, Ohio, Charlotte (Norm) Winner, Gwinn, Mich., and Donna (Ed) Redwine, Augusta, Kan.; brothers Glen (Chris) McCormick, South Chicago Heights, Ill., Kenny (Barbara) McCormick, Francesville, Ind., Carl (Phyllis) McCormick, Homer Glen, Ill., Bob (Marilyn) McCormick, Kentucky, and Joe McCormick, LaCrosse, Ind.; and two brothers-in-law, Wilmer Altman, Ambia, Ind., and Ed Redwine.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Zabel McCormick, father, Martin McCormick, one great-granddaughter, sisters Francis McCormick, Donna Redwine and Mary Alice Altman, brother Tom McCormick and sister-in-law Margie McCormick.

There will be no services. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville. Memorial contributions may be given to the family for funeral expenses.
