Leona Genevieve 'Genny' Peck

---- — Leona Genevieve “Genny” Peck, 92, Logansport, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Wood Bridge Health Campus. Born Dec. 30, 1920, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Bonnie Washburn. On Aug. 7, 1957, in the Anoka United Methodist Church, she was married to the late Clarence Peck, who passed away Dec. 31, 2012.

A 1939 graduate of Washington Township High School, Genny was retired from the Logansport Community School Corp., where she had worked as a teacher’s aide for many years. She had also taught preschool.

Genny was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Ladies Guild. She was also an Elkette. Genny loved to travel. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing euchre. Her family held a special place in her heart. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen “Kathy” and Joseph Russo, Surprise, Ariz., Janet and Stephen Skinner, Potomac Falls, Va., and Joann and Greg Gotshall, Logansport; seven grandchildren, Julie (husband Jose) Dominguez, Elizabeth (husband Matt) Kauffman, Andrew (wife Jamie) Skinner, Jenna Skinner, Trent Gotshall, Kyle Clayton, Joel Gotshall; four great-grandchildren, Joey Dominguez, Khloe Clayton, Maisy Kauffman and Marlee Kauffman; one nephew, Evert (Barb) Wolfe; one niece, Betsy (Esco) McBay; two sisters-in-law, Rosa (Jim) Roller and Marcella (Richard) Clem; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Genny was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Wolfe, and brother, George Washburn.

A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church, 430 Ninth St., with the Rev. K.C. Dehning officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fisher Funeral Chapel.
