Stephen Herman Loner


MERRIT ISLAND, Fla. —

Stephen Herman Loner, 64, Merritt Island, Fla., born and raised in Logansport, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, at his residence.

He was born April 27, 1949, in Logansport, to Herman and Angele Loner.

Steve was a 1967 graduate of Logansport High School as well as a graduate of Indiana University and earned an MSME degree at the University of New Mexico. He was a military veteran, having served “in country” in the infantry during the Vietnam War and a year in Frankfort, Germany, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He was a Mechanical Engineer, PE, for NASA at the Kennedy Space Center for 30 years.

He is survived by his mother, Angele Mary, of Logansport, and four brothers: Wayne, Cleveland, Ohio, Douglas and Linda, Rockford, Ill., Bernard and Sylvia, Logansport, and Lawrence and Christy, Jasper; and one daughter, Danielle, and her husband Grayson of Denver, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman George Loner.

Stephen had six nephews, six nieces, and many grand-nephews, grand-nieces and cousins.

In Logansport, a funeral mass will be scheduled for a later date to be held at All Saints Catholic Church by Fr. Michael McKinney. There will be a private service held in Florida.
