Betty S. Klepinger

Betty S. Klepinger, 92, Logansport, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Manor Care, West Des Moines, Iowa.

Born Dec. 13, 1920, in Peru, Betty was the daughter of the late Glen E. and Susan (Mills) Gaby. She was united in marriage to John R. Klepinger on Aug. 27, 1940, in Marion, and they made their home in Logansport for many years. While living in Logansport she worked for the RBM.

She was also a resident of Sparta, Ill., and while there she worked for her family’s Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise and also the Sparta Country Club Pro Shop. Betty was also active in the Sparta Garden Club and a Patron with the Delta Theta Tau Sorority. In 1938 she was on the Golden Rule softball team which won the State Championship. She enjoyed watching the Cubs, golfing and bowling.

She is survived by her daughter Dixie (Max) Dill of Urbandale, Iowa, a brother Glen (Helen) Gaby II of Logansport, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Diana Selvio and a brother Walt Gaby.

Betty will be buried next to her husband, John, at the Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Logansport. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the cemetery chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Hospice of Des Moines or the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Fund. Fisher Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
