---- — Lewis F. Markley, 91, Logansport, passed away at 9:05 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, in his residence.
He was born on Jan. 5, 1922, in Pulaski County to the late Frank N. and Bessie Mae (Gardner) Markley.
On Oct. 18, 1944, he married Lois Bruce who passed away April 14, 1998. He later married Rosanna Callender on June 30, 2000, who survives..
Lewis was a WW2 Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired farmer, loved to fly his plane and was a member of the Flying Farmers Association. He enjoyed fishing, including trips to Wisconsin and deep sea fishing, with his nephew, Tom Alber, in Puerta Lobos, Mexico.
Other survivors include daughter, Sue (Ron) Lowe, Metea; step-sons, Don Callender, Beaverton, Ore. and Mark Callender, Twelve Mile; grandsons, David (Noreen) Brumett, Logansport, Tom Brumett, Calif. and Brian (Heather) Markley, N.C.; granddaughters, Tami Marcheski, Va. and Nicole (Mike) Pit, N.C.; two step-grandsons, two step-granddaughters and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vieve Kelsey and Juanita Alber, both of Chandler, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter; son, Daniel Lewis Markley; and sisters, Mary Zeider, Helen Wingham and Maude Hiland.
A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Gundrum Funeral Home with burial in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park cemetery, with full military rites.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home.
