Arthur W. Sutton, 89, Logansport, passed away at 12:54 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, in his home.
Born July 31, 1924, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ernest and Melvina Davenport Sutton. On May 27, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was married to Pearl Johnson Sutton. She preceded him in death Dec. 7, 1984.
He was a veteran of the Sea Scouts.
Arthur was retired from RBM where he had worked as a welder.
Arthur was proud to be a life member of the NRA. His Honda motorcycle was his pride and joy and he was a member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Riders Association.
Surviving are son, Arthur Sutton, Jr. and his wife Sherry of Burnettsville; daughter, Sylvia Coppernoll of Logansport; sisters, Norma Williams, Ohio, Wanda Harrison, Ky., and Gloria Sutton, Va.; brother-in-law, Buddy Johnson, Ohio; sister-in-law Nell Riewoldt; grandchildren, Steve and Diane Sutton, Eva Miner and special friend Randy Baker, Kerry and Michelle Sutton, Howard and LeeAnn Schmock and Melissa and Chad Smith; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son David Sutton; granddaughter, Amy; and brother Ray Sutton.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Fisher Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Howard Wade officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and the Cass County Humane Society.
