FRANCESVILLE — Bertha Fugate, 79, Francesville, formerly of Medaryville, went home to be with the Lord at 8:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at the Parkview Haven Retirement Home, Francesville.
Bertha was born on Oct. 14, 1934, in Salyersville, Ky., to the late Tony and Sarah Jordan Trusty.
Bertha was a retired CNA and had worked at the Indiana Veterans Home, West Lafayette, for 13 years.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved her dogs, Dutches and Casper.
Bertha was a caring Christian woman. She enjoyed attending Bailey’s Corner Church.
Survivors include her sons, Ronald R. (Mandy) Trusty, Sr., Medaryville, and James L. (Diane) Fugate, Northville, Minn.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lillie Mae Shepherd, North Judson, and Helen Hopkins, North Judson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Trusty; mother, Sarah Jordan Trusty; sister, Lottie McCarty; and brother, Earl Trusty.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. (EST) Saturday at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville, with Pastor Ed Trusty officiating. Private burial will take place in Denham Cemetery, Denham.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. (EST) Saturday at the chapel.
Memorial contributions may be given to to the funeral home to help cover funeral expenses.
