Donald W. Catt, 85, Young America, passed away at 11:07 a.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Century Villa Nursing Home, Greentown.

He was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Kokomo, to Benjamin and Viola (Stafford) Catt. On April 14, 1946, he married Marjorie L. (Looker) Catt in Young America. She preceded in death on April 17, 1991.

He was a janitor and bus driver for Young America High School and in 1963, went to work in maintenance at General Tire. He retired from GenCorp in 1990. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge (Burlington), Young America Lions Club, former member of First Baptist Church of Young America, and Member of First Baptist Church in Kokomo and a member of the Young America Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed woodworking and mowing his yard, he also umpired little league at Jackson Deer Creek ball park for many years. He loved and enjoyed his family dearly.

Survivors include daughters, Rita (Norman) White, Young America, Donna (Bill) I. Hylton, Camden,

Lora Leigh (Larry) Vernon, Logansport, Beth (Mike) Martin, Kokomo, Angela Ringeisen, and fiance (John Gooldy ) Peru; son Brian (Karen) Catt, Kokomo; brother, Harry Catt, Kokomo; sister, Pat Catt, Kokomo; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; foster daughter, Linda Sprinkle; grandson, baby Randy; four brothers and three sisters.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston, with Pastor Jerry Long officiating. Private burial will take place in North Union Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, with Masonic Rites at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be given to Young America Lions Club.
