PERU — C. Mendel Lowe, 85, Peru, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru.
Born Aug. 14, 1928, in Peru, he was the son of the late Clarence S. and M. Carmen (Kotterman) Lowe. On Nov. 26, 1950, in New Waverly, he married Viola Lorraine Long, who preceded in death on May 26, 2007.
Mendel retired in 1992 from Farm Bureau Co-Op in Peru after 21 years of service.
He was a member of New Waverly United Methodist Church, and a member of the New Waverly Masonic Lodge, where he was a past master.
Surviving are his son, Steven M. (Carol) Lowe, daughter, Kay (Jerry) Wolfe, both of Peru; grandchildren, David (Charlotte) Lowe, Peru, Kevin (Laura) Lowe, Logansport, Angie (Dan) Mayhill, Peru, Emily (Drew) Nye, Noblesville, and Malinda (Wes) Miner, Peru; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by one son, David J. Lowe; one brother, Richard Lowe; and one granddaughter, Kayla Conklin.
A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home, with th Rev. Bob Clark officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday also in the funeral home.
