Laura “Eth” Davis, 90, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Sterling House, Evansville.
Laura was born July 12, 1923, in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Alvin and Maude (Jackson) Davis.
She was a 1951 graduate of Home Hospital School of Nursing and received her bachelor’s degree in 1979 from College of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill. Laura retired from Logansport State Hospital after 41 years where she was the nursing supervisor.
She enjoyed reading, watching football and driving her sports cars. Laura was also a Star Trek fan.
She is survived by nieces, Rebecca Kandler Richardville (Eugene) of Evansville and Gretchen Kandler Moore of Crawfordsville; great nieces, Megan and Morgan Richardville of Evansville, Sarah Smith of Terre Haute, and Jessica McKinney (Tom) of Fort Wayne; and special friend, Lucille Morgan of Logansport.
She was preceded in death by her parents and dear friend, Margaret Kandler.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Aziz Mehrzad, and the staff of Sterling House for the loving care provided to Eth.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church, with Father Dominic Petan officiating.
Visitation will be from 8 to 10 a.m., Saturday at Kroeger Funeral Home.
