Patrick John Rose, 89, Logansport, passed away at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born July 16, 1924, in Logansport, he was the son of Anthony and Eveline Tancredi Rose. His parents were married on Oct. 15, 1921. His mother was born in the Italian village of Squille and his father was born in the Italian village of Ceastel Campagano.
Pat retired in 1986 as a painter at the Logansport State Hospital. He was a talented man who was also a designer, builder, carpenter and master of many other trades. He designed and built the house where he resided until his death, as well as much of the furniture and other features of the home.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a life member of both the VFW Post 3790 and American Legion Post 60. He had also been a member of the former Logansport Eagles.
Pat was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
Surviving are a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Rose, and sisters, Mary Gibson, Josephine Zinsmaster, Angeline Easterday and Dorothy Kidd.
The funeral service will 1 p.m. Saturday at Kroeger Funeral Home, with Fr. Mike McKinney officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today, also at the funeral home.
