William “Bill” Piotrowski Jr., 73, Logansport, passed away at 5:21 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2014, in his home with his loving family by his side just 20 days after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Born May 9, 1941, in Summerlee, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Sr. and Charlotte Mae Williams Martin. On Nov. 7, 1964, in Logansport, he was married to Annis Lea Burton Piotrowski, who survives.
Bill attended high school in Marlington, W.Va. He worked as a coal miner in West Virginia. He had a very strong work ethic. He moved to Logansport in 1990 and was retired from Rochester Metals.
Bill was very involved with his grandchildren. Whether it be a sporting event or a 4-H horse or dog show — he was their No. 1 fan — there cheering them on. He enjoyed water sports, especially swimming and skiing. He loved dogs and horses. Bill was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving with his wife of 50 years are four children and their spouses, Loren and Stephanie Piotrowski of Griffin, Ga., Kathy and Steve Rider of Lafayette, Wendy and Arless Denzel Seabolt of Rochester, and John Steven and Christina Piotrowski of Logansport; one sister, Stella Ann Lowery, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Holly and Rebecca Rider, Mark and Samantha Seabolt, and Luke and Brandon Piotrowski; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Seabolt.
He was preceded in death by son William Mark Piotrowski and sister Betty Landis.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service, which will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fisher Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Mark Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Ever Rest Memorial Park.
