Mark J. Harness
TWELVE MILE — Mark J. Harness, 37, Twelve Mile, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette.
Born Dec. 13, 1976, in Logansport, he was the son of James M. and Cinda L. (Moss) Harness.
Mark was a cattleman. He was a 4-H member for 10 years and took pride in grooming and showing his cattle. Mark graduated from Caston High School in 1996, where he was the chapter president of the FFA.
Surviving Mark are his parents, Jim (Cinda) Harness of Lucerne; two brothers, Blake (Charlotte) Harness of Lucerne and G.W. (Katie) Harness of Woodlawn, Tenn.; fiancee, Samantha G. Hopson of Twelve Mile; niece, Bailey Harness; nephew, Carson Harness, both of Lucerne; maternal grandfather, Leroy E. Moss of Logansport; stepdaughter, Lexi L. Scott; stepson, Zakery L. Hopson, both of Twelve Mile; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Patricia Harness; and his maternal grandmother, Willidean Moss.
A celebration of life will be 6 p.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Cordes officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service Saturday.
