---- — Viola Louise Simons, 87, Logansport, formerly of Camden, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Logansport.

She was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Carroll County. She was the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle Susan (Gibson) Starbuck.

She was a 1944 graduate of Camden High School. She was employed at W.H. Gossard in Logansport and then was plant manager for Woolridge in Denver, Colo. She retired in 1994. She enjoyed doll making, crafts and painting.

She is survived by two sons, Richard (wife Wilma) Simons of Logansport and Charles (wife Cathy) Simons of New Albany; and one daughter, Linda (husband Dennis) Pettigrew of Alamosa, Colo. Also surviving are a brother, Jim Starbuck; three sisters, Sarah Lane of Burlington, Beverly Bartunek of Logansport and Helen Vanlandingham of Milford; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, one sister, one daughter and one granddaughter preceded her in death.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Cree Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Burrows Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
