Karen L. Myers, 53, Galveston, went home to be with the Lord at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 22, 2013, at her home in Galveston.
She was born March 15, 1959, in Logansport, to Calvin L. and Joyce L. (Baber) Myers.
She worked for Cass Co. State Bank in Walton for 20 years which became Salin Bank and Trust.
She graduated in 1977 from Lewis Cass High School. She was member of the Lewis Cass Marching Kings during High School and member of First Baptist Church in Galveston.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and her family, especially her children.
Survivors include son, Matt Nicholas, Walton; daughter, Mallory (Nathan) McClurg, Galveston; parents, Calvin L. & Joyce L. Myers, Galveston; sister, Julie (Jeff) Berlet, Walton; brother, James C. (Valerie) Myers, Galveston; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Cody) Scott, Kristie Berlet, Brad Berlet and Michael Myers; aunt, Judy (Don) Spence, Kokomo; uncle, Doug (Pam) Myers, Galveston; great-aunt, Jean Baber, Walton; mother-in-law, Jane Geasey, Walton; and special friends Debbie Baker, the Blue Ball Women’s Fellowship and First Baptist Women’s Prayer Group.
She was preceded in death by Mr. and Mrs. Forest Baber, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Myers and nephew Samuel Berlet.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Galveston, with the Rev. Joel Surface officiating. Burial will be at Galveston Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.
